Why Hestia? The unexceptional yet essential aspects of daily life are most often overlooked or considered unimportant. Hestia is the goddess hearth and home. She is the fabric of life. I celebrate her in this domestic commonplace

Geez, I love this idea of art every day. I was cruising through the blogs and someone had a link to a novel a day concept which entails writing 2,000 words a day, unedited, every day in November, ending with a novel of sorts by month's end. Is that your goal here? To create a piece of artwork every day? Worthy goal, I think.
I love that avocado--was that the shade?--scarf below. It's gorgeous.
And I love the photograph that inspired this still life.

Yes, you're thinking of NaNoWriMo, an annual November event. The goal is for participants to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. The idea is to get creatvity flowing, to stop self-critique. My friend Kat, an artist, decided several years ago to do something similar for herself: Art Everyday Month. This is her third year, and several of her blog friends decided to participate. I've loved it!
And yes, the shade of the scarf is avocado. And thanks for the compliment on the photograph -- that's another hobby I enjoy!
