Why Hestia? The unexceptional yet essential aspects of daily life are most often overlooked or considered unimportant. Hestia is the goddess hearth and home. She is the fabric of life. I celebrate her in this domestic commonplace

Thank you, Songbird! I was pleasantly surprised with the result. I hadn't tried painting over a collage before.

Earlier this year I went in for a diagnostic mammogram (long story, being treated for a throat problem, ended up with a chest MRI(!!) that showed something suspicious on my right breast. As it turned out, it was only suspicious to the MRI people, who are not mammogram people. The latter said it not only was not suspicious, but looked just like last year's mammorgram, for goodness' sake).
What I'm trying to get to is that I had no idea what the mammogram pictures really looked like. The tissue on the x-ray is veined just as you portray it, sort of going every which way.
And so your painting has enormous resonance for me. Thank you.
